Optimized
Conventional Solar Air Heaters |
|
|
Description:
The major deterrent to the
large-scale deployment of the solar air heaters is their relatively high
initial capital cost. Also, desired efficiency levels are still in the
offing to make the system perform optimally. In the present case, several
designs of air heaters developed either on a pilot scale or commercial level
have been thoroughly assessed from key techno-economic considerations. These
include the corrugated absorber, corrugated single pass, double pass and
triple pass air heaters, finned air duct and packed bed air heaters. Special
Features:
The key feature of
the above-mentioned study is manifested in the theoretical optimization of
several critical parameters like the air flow rate, duct Departmenth and
length for pre-fixed collector material. So, the net result is in the form
of availability of optimally suited combinations, which can be tried to
arrive at the most suitable system design choice at an affordable system cost. Prospective
