Removal from Water by Reverse Micelles Technique |
|
|
Description:
Surfactants beyond critical
micelles concentration (CMC) form micelles structure in water. Micelles are
surfactant agglomerate in which hydrophobic parts are in inter core and
hydrophobic parts pointers towards water. Reverse micelles (reverse
structure) are formed by surfactants in all phase. Polar organic compound
soluble in water can be solubilited in solvent by using reverse micelles and
there by miscible polar organic compound can be repeated form water easily
simply starring water and solvent phase and surfactants together in mixer
settler equipment. After mixing they are allowed to setle and the oil and
water phase is separated due to gravity. Thus, organize matter is exhorted
into the soment phase form water and its efficiency is much higher than the
conventional light liquid exhort ion process
